The isolation of guanosine diphosphate colitose from Escherichia coli.
نویسنده
چکیده
Thymidine derivatives of this type are uncommon and only recently have thymidine diphosphate rhamnose I and related deoxysugar nucleotides 17 been described. Guanosine diphosphate mannosO 8 is the only other nucleotide containing mannose. Thymidine diphosphate mannose is of interest as a possible intermediate in the biosynthesis of streptomycin B (a-D-mannopyranosyl-streptomycin) TM, which occurs together with streptomycin in this torero-organism.

Two site-directed mutations are required for the conversion of a sugar dehydratase into an aminotransferase.
L-colitose and d-perosamine are unusual sugars found in the O-antigens of some Gram-negative bacteria such as Escherichia coli, Vibrio cholerae, and Salmonella enterica, among others. The biosynthetic pathways for these two sugars begin with the formation of GDP-mannose from d-mannose 1-phosphate and GTP followed by the subsequent dehydration and oxidation of GDP-mannose to yield GDP-4-keto-6-d...
متن کاملEffect of Concomitant Lycopene Biosynthesis on CoQ10 Accumulation in Transformed Escherichia coli Strains
CoQ10 and lycopene are isoprenoid compounds with nutraceutical and pharmaceutical benefits. In this study, the effect of concomitant lycopene biosynthesis on CoQ10 accumulation in transformed Escherichia coli DH5α was studied. A lycopene production pathway including geranylgeranyl diphosphate synthase (crtE), phytoene synthase (crtB), and phytoene desaturase (crtI) from Erwinia herbicola was co...
متن کاملCell Wall Composition and Virulence in Escherichia Coli
Uridine diphosphate galactose 4-epimerase and phosphomannose isomerase-deficient mutants of Escherichia coli O111:B4 were studied to test the hypothesis that in E. coli a specific relationship exists between O antigenicity, virulence, and capacity to resist phagocytosis. The first mutant, designated J-5, produces a cell wall lipopolysaccharide, the side chains of which do not contain galactose,...
متن کاملProtein synthesis results in guanosine-5'-diphosphate-3'-diphosphate synthesis in Escherichia coli minicells.
Minicells of Escherichia coli DS410 synthesized guanosine-5'-diphosphate-3'-diphosphate and guanosine-5'-triphosphate-3'-diphosphate when synthesizing proteins in response to phage T7 infection. The guanosine-5'-diphosphate-3'-diphosphate synthesis was found to be relA+ dependent and inhibited by chloramphenicol.
متن کاملEnzymatic Synthesis of Deoxyribonucleotides. Iv. Isolation and Characterization of Thioredoxin, the Hydrogen Donor from Escherichia Coli B.
The reductive formation of deoxycytidine diphosphate from cytidine diphosphate with crude extracts of Escherichia coli B required the presence of reduced triphosphopyridine nucleotide (1). On purification of the GDP-reductase system, an enzyme fraction (Fraction B) was obtained, which was no longer active with TPNH but, instead, showed an absolute requirement for reduced lipoate (2, 3). Several...
